Carousel Splitter

Slice one wide image into swipeable slides.

About this tool

Carousel splitting turns one wide photo into slides that flow together as people swipe. Upload a panorama, pick 2 to 10 slides and a 4:5 or 1:1 ratio, and each slide exports 1080 pixels wide. Choose 'pad' to keep the whole picture instead of cropping. Upload the files in order, 1 first.

Turn One Wide Photo into a Seamless Swipeable Carousel

You've probably seen the type of carousel post that makes you keep swiping just to find out how the picture continues: a skyline that runs across three slides, a long dinner table, a mountain ridge that refuses to end where the first frame does. The Carousel Splitter creates that effect for you. Give it one wide image and it cuts it into evenly sized slides that line up perfectly when someone swipes through them.

What the tool actually does

You upload a single panorama, or any photo that is wider than it is tall, and the splitter divides it into anywhere from 2 to 10 slides. Every slide is exported at 1080 pixels wide, the width commonly used for Instagram feed posts. You can pick a 4:5 portrait ratio, which takes up more room on the screen, or a classic 1:1 square, so the finished set matches the look of your profile.

How to use it

Start by uploading your wide image. Next, choose how many slides you want and which ratio suits the post. Then decide how the picture should fit: crop it to fill each slide completely, or choose "pad" to keep the whole photo visible instead of trimming it. Once the settings look right, export your slides. When you post them, upload the files in order with slide 1 first, otherwise the picture will jumble up as people swipe.

Crop or pad: which one should you pick?

Cropping gives you slides that are completely filled by the photo, which looks clean and bold, but anything outside the chosen ratio gets trimmed away. If your panorama has important details near the top or bottom edges, such as a tall building or a person's head, padding is the safer option because nothing is cut off. It's worth trying both and comparing before you post.

Where it comes in handy

Travel photographers use it to share landscapes without shrinking them into a tiny strip. Small businesses can show a full product lineup across several slides. Event photographers can stretch a crowd shot or a stage view over a whole carousel. It also works for wide artwork, long screenshots, timelines, and before-and-after layouts where the story really does move from left to right.

A few tips for better results

Your photos stay with you

The splitting happens right in your browser. Your images are processed on your own device and are never uploaded, so you can work with personal or client photos without worrying about where they end up. There's nothing to install and no account to create. Just open the page, add your photo, and have your slides ready in a minute.
